Canadian Restorative Justice Consortium
Making Restorative Justice visible and viable for all Canadians.
What is Restorative Justice?
Restorative Justice is a way of addressing harm or conflict that focuses on healing, accountability, and making things right. It brings together the person who was harmed (the victim), the person who caused the harm (the offender), and sometimes members of the broader community. Instead of focusing only on punishment, Restorative Justice asks: Who was harmed? What do they need? And who is responsible for meeting those needs? Through dialogue and mutual understanding, the goal is to repair relationships, support healing for the victim, encourage accountability from the offender, and strengthen the community as a whole.
The Canadian Restorative Justice Consortium promotes Restorative Justice at the national level and supports Restorative Justice practitioners, programs, agencies and networks/associations.
